Home medical-care assistance services

To reduce the psychological and economic strain on families taking care of persons confined to bed by illness, injury, or other reasons, the Accenture Health Insurance Society provides in-home care support services for insured persons and dependents receiving long-term care at home.
| This system provides support with some of the costs associated with the following: 1. Purchase of equipment and supplies for long-term care; 2. Rental of equipment and supplies for long-term care; 3. Short stays; 4. Bathing services; and, 5. In-home long-term care (helper) services.

Eligible persons

Insured persons and dependents who continue to receive medical care at home while confined to bed for one month or longer due to non-occupational illness or injury.

Contents of business

Purchase of equipment and supplies for long-term care If you purchase eligible equipment or supplies for long-term care, this system will reimburse you for the cost paid for the equipment or supplies or 70% of the base price, up to a maximum of 50,000 yen per item.
Rental of equipment and supplies for long-term care For rentals of eligible equipment or supplies for long-term care, this system provides 70% of the actual costs paid for such rental, up to a maximum of 5,000 yen per month per item, for a total of 36 months.
Short stays If the person receiving long-term care is briefly hospitalized because he or she temporarily requires more than in-home care due to illness or other reason of the person providing the care, this system provides 70% of the actual costs paid for such hospitalization, up to a maximum of 5,000 yen per day, up to seven times per month and 40 days per year.
Bathing services For persons who require professional bathing services, this system provides 70% of the actual costs paid for each use of such services, up to a maximum of 5,000 yen per use, for up to three times per month.
In-home long-term care services For requests for long-term care services provided by persons other than family members, this system provides 70% of the actual costs paid for such services, up to a maximum of 5,000 yen per day, up to seven times per month.

Procedures

Before seeking use of this system, first explore available public support provided by local governments. Since such public support involves conditions such as income restrictions and advance approval, check with the welfare office or similar agency of your local government for more information.

If you make use of in-home care services under long-term care insurance or are unable to receive benefits from your local government, please inquire with the Health Insurance Society.
