I visited a hospital without my health insurance card and paid the full amount of the medical care costs. I would like to apply for a refund (of the medical expenses), so should I attach the Medical Care Statement I received from the hospital?
When applying for medical expenses, you will need the Detailed Medical Fee Statement, not the Medical Care Statement. The Medical Care Statement does include a breakdown of the medical care costs, but it is simplified and can therefore not be used to apply for a refund of medical expenses.
If you intend to apply for a refund of medical expenses, please tell the receptionist at the medical care institution that you need a Detailed Medical Fee Statement (receipt) to apply for a refund from the Health Insurance Society.
